Malia Grace kicking off Kickstarter for EP with preview show

BeBobAlooza winner to offer fans a taste of new music

Over the past couple of years we’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing clients, but
we’ve never been prouder now that one of our favorites is ready to embark on the second half of what has thus far been – a short – but very promising career. Our own Malia Grace (née Malia LiVolsi) is currently working on her début EP with famed Austin-based producers Matt Noveskey (Orb Studios/ Blue October) and Johnny Vogelsang. She is planning to release seven songs in the spring of 2015 following a Kickstarter in January, which will help raise funds to complete the EP. To celebrate and kick off the upcoming effort she recently announced that she would be performing a preview show at Austin’s One-2-One Bar Dec. 29! Please find her full statement below:

I want to welcome my friends, family and fans to the next stage in my music career. As many of you know, I am currently working on my debut EP. I’ve enjoyed entertaining at local venues, parties, churches and even college and professional sporting events, and now I’ve discovered how special it is to put your own music on record to share with the world.

Over the past couple of months, I have been blessed to work with two amazingly talented producers, namely Matt Noveskey (Orb Studios/ Blue October) and Johnny Vogelsang. Under their guidance and with the synergistic input and participation from an all-star roster of local musicians whom I have been fortunate enough to cross paths with, I am putting together seven very special songs to share with you all in the spring of 2015.

Already, the songs for the EP have drawn some praise. A couple of months ago, my songs won the 2014 edition of BeBobAlooza, a prestigious songwriting contest judged by its Emmy award winning namesake Bob Cheevers, Sara Hickman, the president of the Texas Songwriters Association, and many other talented musicians/songwriters. I am beyond honored to have received this award, and cannot wait to share my music with you all!

In the coming months, we hope to complete and polish the effort for the EP. We will be holding a fundraiser via Kickstarter in January to help us complete the project and deliver the best product we possibly can. Until then, this month is all about celebrating the end of what has been an extremely special year for my team and me and about inviting all of you who have shown your support for me in so many ways over the years along for the ride.

Of course, no celebration would be complete without a party – so I’m throwing one! December 29th, I will be playing songs from my upcoming EP as well as some old favorites at Austin’s One-2-One Bar from 11 p.m. until midnight with a full band backing me up.

Please join us for a drink or two and some music that I guarantee will cure any case of the Mondays! Thank you all for your continuous support. I love every one of you and am so glad to share this life-changing experience with you.

Soul Track Mind-Austin highrise

Soul Track Mind’s “Unbreakable” named one of the best albums of 2014 by MojoLists

Congratulations to our friends and clients in  Soul Track Mind  on having their latest studio effort “Unbreakable,” included on MojoLists Best Ablums of 2014! So, what constitutes a great album? MojoLists elaborates in the article:

“Great albums are more than a radio hit, they are a coherent collection of songs that share a vision or forward a story. It is a single work of art created from many pieces. The art of the album is lost on many of today’s recording artists, especially within the pop genre but that isn’t to say that is something new, just perhaps more prevalent. For as long as recorded music had a long play format, there have been albums with untouched B sides and others that compelled the listener to listen to the complete work, both sides.

These albums stand out as the very best of what all of us here at MojoLists heard this year, the albums that made us stop and pay attention, the albums that we will still be listening too for years to come. It was no easy decision either, 2014 has been one of the best years for music releases in a long time.”

Soul Track Mind teams up with San Antonio Food Bank

Central Texas soul titans Soul Track Mind urge fans to bring nonperishable donations to
pre-Thanksgiving show Wednesday at Sam’s Burger Joint to restock SAFB coffers

Long a staple of the Texas music scene, Soul Track Mind recently cemented its popularity in the home of the blues, by winning the 2014 Louisiana Music Prize. To celebrate that victory, and the continuing success of their latest album Unbreakable, the band is getting in the Thanksgiving Spirit by urging its fans to bring nonperishable donations to Its Nov. 26, show at San Antonio’s seminal music venue – Sam’s Burger Joint.

The band has partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank to receive the goods, in an effort both groups hope will replenish the stores of SAFB for the holiday season. The food bank will have distributed most of its food for Thanksgiving by the show and officials for the organization said ramped-up donations are crucial to restock the cupboards during the holiday season.
